Lightweight aluminum chassis optimization for a mobile field-robot platform—balancing strength, cost, and energy use.
The brief was to move away from a heavy steel baseline that limited speed and battery life. We re-architected the chassis in aluminum, ran structural checks to hold required loads, and kept material and fabrication costs within practical bounds. The outcome is a more agile, energy-efficient base without giving up durability in real outdoor use.
